Welcome to HydroServer 101!

This is the very first tutorial in our series and is designed for absolute beginners.

In this tutorial series, you’ll build a complete monitoring workflow from scratch using the HydroServer web interface. Here’s what we’ll cover across the four parts:

  1. Creating Your First Site — Sign up for a free account and create a monitoring site to represent a physical monitoring location.
  2. Creating Your First Datastream — Set up a datastream to describe what you are measuring at your site.
  3. Creating Your First Orchestration System — Register an orchestration system and configure automated data ingestion using the Streaming Data Loader.
  4. Loading Observations into a Datastream — Load a sample dataset and view your data directly in the HydroServer interface.

Each part builds directly on the last, so work through them in order. By the end, you’ll have a working site, datastream, and automated ingestion pipeline — and a solid foundation for exploring more advanced features.
